Blogger App for iOS

|
Okay I've finally downloaded the blogger app for iPhone and I guess it's safe to say that its simplicity covers almost everything I can and want to do with my phone. I would prefer to handle complicated stuff on my Mac instead.

Oh have I mentioned I've got a puppy? Like finally since childhood! Lola, the super adorable Pomeranian!

Dear Santa

|
It been such a long time since I last blogged. Thanks for those who are still checking in from time to time.

It's yet again, Christmas. I wonder what will I wish for since I've been such a good boy these past few years.

Santa, please grant me a job!

Will blog again when the mood strikes :P

Phew, what a kick-start!

|
So yes, this would be the first post of the year and what a shame, what a shame! First 2010 post at the end of January? Alright, I know. Anyway, I'm posting this while having my lunch here at Wings Bar and yes, I've been very, very busy completing the rest of my training. Hopefully things turn out as expected on March! Will try my best to get in touch with this blog as soon as possible and as much as possible. Until then, thanks for visiting!

Merry Christmas!

|

Merry Christmas to y'all! I know it's been long since I last updated this blog but well, better late than never!

*Please do not use this image in any sort of way without permission. You may request through my email on the "Contacts."

Fuzzy

|

We adopted a kitten! She was an estimate of few months old when we got her. She's now healthily chubby! We named her Fuzzy after researching that cats are more sensitive to names rhymes with 'e'. After some training and playing and feeding, she finally answers to "Fuzzy!" All of us love her very much!

Though, if given the chance, I'd prefer a puppy/dog!

RESPECT

|
The band says "RESPECT."
To be respected is to respect.

The thing I'm holding is called a stud.
Stud is what I wear everyday for the past five
years.

Respect it.

Do you have a respect issue? Especially in work? Well I have. Some people that I'm working with expect all the rest to respect them unconditionally. They are keep taking and taking and never giving. Isn't that completely unprofessional?

I'm in the aviation industry, one of the most popular, highly rated professional professions in the world but why do most, if not everyone, hate these hypocrites?

I always keep in mind, if you need the respect from people, you give it first. Is this even arguable?

Safari 4.0

|
"Software Updates..." offers the latest version of Safari 4.0 up for download. It's looking more sophisticated and it comes with a few of new features.

One of them, the "Show Top Sites" button. Image above shows the large-sized site thumbnails and it is adjustable to medium and small. The small's shows 24 thumbnails while the medium's shows 12.

I have not find out the shortcut command for the "Show Top Sites" button but as soon as I do, I will let you know. But if you do know, let me know alright?

Night Out

|

I went to the casino yesterday with some friends and ended up staying for the night at the hotel. The slot machines were killing me! They looked attractive yet deceptive at the same time. Lost some two thou's. I'll be back tonight, and I'll gonna win some back!

By the way, if you have any research or computations on slot machine, let me know. I would love to learn a trick or two!

Speeds

|

I was surprised to see my download speed got that high (682.4 kb/s) and I was so close to missed this screenshot. Well, the speeds remain there for a few hours and then they went low, like usual.

So you might ask, how the hell did I get high download speed like that? It's simple. Just remember a few lines when you're using your P2P engine(s) to download stuff:
  • Sharing is caring. Do not set your download limits too high and upload's too low.
  • Give and Take. Try to be a little more selfless. It's unfair to others if you want the best/most just for yourself, you leechers.
Actually, that's all. You'll be surprise to see improvements if you stick to these "rules."

P/S : I have no idea why my upload rate was low (92.3 kb/s), compared to the download rate. It happens, it happens.

Obsession Part Two

|
Now, this is "1 Million" from Paco Rabanne, his latest creation. The very first time I smelled it, I loved it. It is very hard for me to describe how great it smells like but I guess it's something between luxury and class.

My obsession has got a high price to pay. Figurative and literally. I have a total of nine bottles of these colognes! Paco Rabanne, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Guess, Trussardi, Givenchy, Chanel and Dior. Worst of all, I tend to buy them usually when they first arrived!

Enough of the "Oh, how great this cologne is!" and back to the reality... I realised I've spent so much of money just for colognes alone! I'm trying to cut down my expenses to the max and spend only if I need something, necessarily.

This FCUK tee is a little too big, for now. Not gonna be able to wear it anytime soon. Love the message though.

Malaysia Break Part One

|
So, what have I been doing not updating this blog for so long? Worse, since last month?! Hahaha, long story short, catching-up. Serious series of catching-ups! So you ask, with who? First off, my dearest families. That was the very reason why I did not inform any of my friends over here in Malaysia, fearing I might spend more than necessary with them rather than my family.

Anyway, as you can see (or may not), I've watched Dragon Ball Evolution, the movie with a bunch of National Service's best pals. Not bad, will be very acceptable if they were to spend more money and effort on their graphics.

On the other hand, Hotel for Dogs was great. I liked it how all along the movie, it focused on the sibling-hood of two orphans. Thank god the dogs did not talk in the movie (I didn't watch the trailer and thought it was that kinda movie). Otherwise, it would have spoiled the whole thing.

Last but not least, the most recent movie was Knowing. I have never watched its trailer nor heard anything special about it until it was released in the cinemas. The movie was really dramatic with exaggerated sound and graphic effects, as a bonus for some but otherwise as distractions for many. I took it pretty well, not so bad after all. Watching a loud movie with a lecturer, especially a sweet and innocent-looking one wasn't really an ideal hang-out because... she cursed and swore and jumped-around and... and... and... (you don't wanna know!).

Nevertheless, Baskin Robbins treats from her did cover up a lot of stuff! We talked and laughed and even shared some personal stuff together! She, Ann Deni is definitely someone you could call your lecturer, and a friend.

As far as I'm concerned, no picture was taken. Will try to get some for Part Two. Adios.

Hong Kong, ANYONE AT ALL?

|

Hong Kong, anyone? For God's sake, it's only US$110! I'll be having a short holiday, in which it could be extended up to two weeks long. I would be extremely happy to get away from "this" place for awhile.

By the way, it's Hong Kong! How much time do you wanna spend there, huh? Come on guys, anyone at all!

Février

|
February.

So, today marks the first day of February 2009 and tomorrow will be my first flight of the year. Yeah, now you know how busy I am with my non-flying schedule.

Something struck my brain today... I've been thinking a lot. A lot about many things. None specific because strange enough, a same thought hasn't got the chance to stay in my head for long. Clouds of thought just popped and evaporated after every little while.

Friendships.
As time flies, and a new day arrives, friendship between me and my mates here hasn't improved much, but nevertheless not worsened by any chance. I've been thinking, I will have to graduate alone one day, not literally but practically. Sometimes, I would think that the friendship that I've been nurturing alongside the involved parties will go to waste. You see, we are very different, each individually. We come from different countries, we are of different races and we speak in different languages. But... one thing for sure that's in common - our friendship. That's the problem. We will eventually leave each other and head back to our own country, do things our own ways and talk and eat our own ways.

Nothing's gonna be the same again. Sometimes, I would have a selfish thought of not accepting my friends to be shared. Can't blame me because they are always busy attaching theirs eyes and minds into their laptops and connecting with their friends whereas I'm the only one here clinging onto them, cutting off those over the net. From now on, I will try to start getting in touch with those in Malaysia who I've neglected all along, in all these years.

Tomorrow.
It will be a big day for some of us, the foreigners. I can't reveal many details here but one thing I can say is that if this discussion brings us to our boiling point, this is the end. The end, right. You didn't see it wrong. I will soon update you guys with the minutes.

That's all for this post. It's getting draggy. Au revoir.

Nephrology

|
For the past two weeks, I have been seeing some doctors from few different specialities. The most important being the nephrologist. Since I have to renew my First Class Medical every once a year, I wasn't quite ready to be examined, but I have no choice.

Without the medical certificate, I will not be able to fly, and so, the procedures began. Urinalysis, blood chemistry, heart test and all sorts of other weird medical terms were the few of most I've done.

You know what? I think if I continued writing, this would be too long.

To make the long story short, I've been medicated to get some good results in my blood compositions and it worked but Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) wanted me to get another blood test done in their department. I did and they wanted me to get an ultrasound for my urinary bladder and kidneys afterwards.

All in all, five blood tests were completed, two different ultrasound reports from two different hospital in two consecutive days and some urine samples taken just to make sure my kidneys are okay. Worst of all, I've spent an abso-bloody-lutely huge amount of money just for my medical. Trust me!

Right now, I'm just waiting for the release of my medical certificate from CAAP and I hope everything will turn out good. I will be thankful.

Malaysia Trip

|
The remaining of our days in Malaysia, we spent time in many big malls, shopping around and playing bowling. Shopping was boring but bowling was never this fun.

We played in every malls we went to and those were the quality times spent. I can't think of any other thing that all of us foreigners do when we're here in Clark, so I supposed, bowling was our getaway.

I didn't get to spend much time with my family and close friends but for those whom my time was spent with, it was rememberable. Among them, National Service bunch consisting Summer, Emily, Eling, Shioun and Edmond were the ones I've met up the most. Also, not forgetting meeting up with SookLee at Petronas Twin Towers for dinner at Sakae Sushi and Poni and Gary at Times Square for a movie.

I was glad Poni and Sonali got along quick and became shopping partners in split seconds. Gary and I were just plain-talking about our progress in life.

Other than that, I was really happy Leoric and Vincent showed up at Mid Valley for a movie. Thanks to Leoric, my coca-cola collections has now expanded with some new four (or five) bottles and cans of Aussie cokes! By the way, that decorative item he gave made my day too, though he should have given me the pilot-related thingy instead of driver's. He got his reasons and I completely understood.

New year was fun. I was supposed to meet up with Andrea and Harveena but for some reasons, we didn't get to. Anyway, there will always be a next time in the future. And oh, did I mention (I know I didn't) that I met Yung San, Choon Fui, Jeleine and Su Wen at Times Square before getting my car? Yeap, I met them and it was an unusual feeling but great at the same time. Glad to see them again!

This should cover up everything that has happened in Malaysia. I will always treasure the times we spent together, as colleagues and future MPL pilots!

P/S : Too bad that in many occasions with many different friends, photos were forgotten to take...

Christmas, 2008

|
Let's see...

First of all, I apologized for making this blog looked so dead.
Last but not least, I have reasonable excuses, just so you know.

Done.

During the last December, I've been busy preparing myself for several different types of airworks and on top of that, planning my schedules in Malaysia - the wheres, whens and the whos.

After celebrating Christmas and 2009 New Year in Malaysia, I'm finally back on the 2nd of January from my 12-day-11-night bloody exciting trip. The Bahrainis - Mohamed "Cousin", Mohamed "Big Mo" and Yousif, the Omani - Ibrahim "Barhoom," the Indian - Sonali and I enjoyed our short break off the Philippines very much.

Though, our programmes were mostly taken place in Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens, Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wang, Low Yat Plaza, Lot 10, Starhill Gallery, Pavilion and Sunway Pyramid, we did take some turnovers with splashes at Sunway Lagoon Water Park and adrenaline-pumping theme park rides at Genting Highlands.

From the sleeps to the eats, they enjoyed it all; whereas I was the only one tired from the endless driving-arounds. Anyway, I still enjoyed myself alongside my close friends. Y'all know lah, I gotta bring the best of Malaysia on the table, aight!

Christmas countdown at Bukit Bintang was the first thing that opened their eyes wide. They did not see many things coming - from our wide variety of foods to our hospitality towards visitors, jaws were dropped.

Next post will be about the New Year Countdown for the year 2008/2009.

P/S : Photographs were uploaded into my Facebook account already. The hassle killed me.

Updates

|
First thing's first, I apologize for not updating my blog for quite some time because I'm so lazy, no, I mean busy with my flying here.

Okay done. Next, updates :
  • I passed my Progress Check II on the second trial.
  • Today is the first flight for Jeffrey and Ibrahim, unfortunately not for Laith.
  • Ten more days to arrive at Malaysia for Christmas and New Year.
Too bad, I'm bringing some friends around Malaysia, so, I might not have the time to hang out with my Malaysian friends. I know you guys miss me, not!

Also, you guys should know it's bloody expensive for me but not for you to call me up from Malaysia, come on, pop me some calls man... Text messages, no thanks. It's also expensive per text reply from the Philippines too.

Things here have been going really slow... So slow I could sleep whole day not bothering when to wake up. Alarms are useless meantime. And before I forget, happy belated and advance birthday to my cousin, Siew and the greatest god-sister around, Pony!

P/S : Safe flights buddies! Don't bully Captain Angeles, Jeffrey and Ibrahim!

Future

|
What could you possibly predict what's gonna happen in the next minute? I'm so frustrated and exhausted thinking of my future, or should I say, MPL Pilots' future. Things are so unpredictable and even when there is just a signature left in the contract to be signed, there is no guarantee that the contract will take effect.

What am I gonna do if all things fail? It seems that most of the foreigners here have their secret backups except me... Sometimes it really hurts to see how carefree they could be, especially those from the upper batches and I hate it. Seriously.

PILOT.

Can I be one in the future?
Sometimes I doubt it;
sometimes I don't.
Sometimes it's obvious;
sometimes, it seems impossible.

Also, it is highly possible that I couldn't graduate on time, nobody else could, or at least it seems. Sigh, I don't want to think too much about the problems occurring day after another but I can't help it especially almost none of them were solved quickly. It's undeniably irritating at all times!

Seriously, if this is a dead end, I'll be dead in no time. We keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best possible thing to happen.
