Blind Date. GO or NO-GO?

What will be your first reaction when asked for a blind date? A worthy go or just a waste-of-time no-go?

Young adults and teenagers are now more open-minded than people who were in the 60's. With the luxuries of internet and cell phone services, they get in touch more frequently and easily, anywhere and anytime.

The question is, how safe is blind-dating via Facebook/Friendster/Orkut/online-dating-sites or any of the engines with immediate-account-readily available on the net?

From ehow.com, there are few guidelines to make sure of your safety during the date.
  • Choose a public place, preferably the one you know well.
  • Do not give out too many personal details before meeting in person.
  • Although it is called a blind-date, do not believe a person blindly.
  • Talk to parents/friends, just in case something goes wrong.
  • Inform parents/friends by call/text messages as the date progresses.
  • Do not drink beyond your capacity.
  • Do not take these dates too seriously. Try to have fun.
Now, I've tried one of these and to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it! Well, maybe because she was a friend's girlfriend that I've never met. Now we did.

As to you readers, what do you think? Would you go for it? If you had been to one, comment and share your experience. Some people might be thankful for a little more guidance!
