Vacancy 2 : The First Cut

|
So, I've watched Vacancy 2 : The First Cut and I think it's pretty scary. Better compared to the first one.

If you are craving for some horror movies, this is one. I can't guarantee it's perfect but it does work for me.

恭喜发财,红包拿来!

|
It's the first day of a new lunar year today and I'm stuck here with no mood and no red packet, which means, no extra pocket money.

Anyway, even though I did not have the chance to have the reunion dinner with my dearest family, I had a good one with my good buddy, Jeffrey at Hong Kong Fortune Seafood Restaurant. The ambience was really home-feel, as in the crowd and the mixed Chinese languages and the food.

We had a dish of kailan in oyster sauce, garlic prawns, crab, Yang Chow fried rice and last but not least, I got myself a bowl of shark fin soup. Tasted good, felt better.

I miss my family and friends a lot. When I needed some, they were not there but nevertheless, one will always show up. Thanks Jeffrey, reunion dinner has never been this great with a friend!

Happy "Niu" Year! May this new year bring you happiness, prosperity and longevity!

Nephrology

|
For the past two weeks, I have been seeing some doctors from few different specialities. The most important being the nephrologist. Since I have to renew my First Class Medical every once a year, I wasn't quite ready to be examined, but I have no choice.

Without the medical certificate, I will not be able to fly, and so, the procedures began. Urinalysis, blood chemistry, heart test and all sorts of other weird medical terms were the few of most I've done.

You know what? I think if I continued writing, this would be too long.

To make the long story short, I've been medicated to get some good results in my blood compositions and it worked but Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) wanted me to get another blood test done in their department. I did and they wanted me to get an ultrasound for my urinary bladder and kidneys afterwards.

All in all, five blood tests were completed, two different ultrasound reports from two different hospital in two consecutive days and some urine samples taken just to make sure my kidneys are okay. Worst of all, I've spent an abso-bloody-lutely huge amount of money just for my medical. Trust me!

Right now, I'm just waiting for the release of my medical certificate from CAAP and I hope everything will turn out good. I will be thankful.

The Passengers

|
"The Truth Can't Hide Forever"

Watched The Passengers two-three weeks ago and I have to say, this is quite a good movie, and very watchable. I loved how confusing its plot get and how things eventually becoming clearer as I continue to understand the movie.

Anne Hathaway has done a great job. I enjoyed how she mastered her character so well and expressed it through her versatility in acting.

This movie is definitely a must-watch! At least, that's the only way to find out if things written here are acceptable or not!

Juno?

|
So, I did some blog hopping and just found out that Juno has recently been released in Malaysia. I was like, "What the fuck? This late?" What else could Malaysian Government censored from the movie and what took them so long to approve it?

Well, my fellow friends, from my nineteen years of experience, many scenes will be and should have been cut off from the original movie. Anyway, if you could use a little of imaginations and fantasies, you're pretty much understand the movie well, though it would be much better with those story-stitching deleted scenes.

By the way, we watched this movie in the Philippines last February 2008! Imagine that...

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

|
With Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall and Penélope Cruz, this movie is good to watch. I have to say, this movie is suitable for those who are more open-minded to new things and matured enough to handle some truths in one's life.

I enjoyed this movie a lot and because the movie took Barcelona as the main background setting, it has somehow encouraged me to save up some money and spend some time there.

This movie has brought up to life by the good acting and on top of it, its cinematography was nicely done.

If the movie would to be released in your place without any part of it being censored, it is a should-watch!

Wild Child

|
Emma Roberts, as the wild child was just okay in the movie. I've watched it last year but have forgotten to write a "review" on it.

The overall movie scenes were pretty much expectable, a big cliché actually... But I did enjoy the movie as a whole.

The Spirit

|
After returning to the Philippines, the second movie Sonali and I watched this new year was The Spirit.

Yet, another disappointing movie. Some said they would rather read the comic instead. For me, it was barely okay. I guess the best part was Eva Mendez's bare ass! Also, not to mention all the other sexy celebrities acted in it.

Bedtime Stories

|
Well, I've watched this when I was in Malaysia with Sonali, Pony, Edmond and Jillian with her friend.

I can't make up my mind whether or not this Adam Sandler's production was good or not. Many said it was brilliant but unfortunately for me, I didn't enjoy much.

I guess I was expecting too much and got a little disappointed with the final product of the movie.

Malaysia Trip

|
The remaining of our days in Malaysia, we spent time in many big malls, shopping around and playing bowling. Shopping was boring but bowling was never this fun.

We played in every malls we went to and those were the quality times spent. I can't think of any other thing that all of us foreigners do when we're here in Clark, so I supposed, bowling was our getaway.

I didn't get to spend much time with my family and close friends but for those whom my time was spent with, it was rememberable. Among them, National Service bunch consisting Summer, Emily, Eling, Shioun and Edmond were the ones I've met up the most. Also, not forgetting meeting up with SookLee at Petronas Twin Towers for dinner at Sakae Sushi and Poni and Gary at Times Square for a movie.

I was glad Poni and Sonali got along quick and became shopping partners in split seconds. Gary and I were just plain-talking about our progress in life.

Other than that, I was really happy Leoric and Vincent showed up at Mid Valley for a movie. Thanks to Leoric, my coca-cola collections has now expanded with some new four (or five) bottles and cans of Aussie cokes! By the way, that decorative item he gave made my day too, though he should have given me the pilot-related thingy instead of driver's. He got his reasons and I completely understood.

New year was fun. I was supposed to meet up with Andrea and Harveena but for some reasons, we didn't get to. Anyway, there will always be a next time in the future. And oh, did I mention (I know I didn't) that I met Yung San, Choon Fui, Jeleine and Su Wen at Times Square before getting my car? Yeap, I met them and it was an unusual feeling but great at the same time. Glad to see them again!

This should cover up everything that has happened in Malaysia. I will always treasure the times we spent together, as colleagues and future MPL pilots!

P/S : Too bad that in many occasions with many different friends, photos were forgotten to take...

Christmas, 2008

|
Let's see...

First of all, I apologized for making this blog looked so dead.
Last but not least, I have reasonable excuses, just so you know.

Done.

During the last December, I've been busy preparing myself for several different types of airworks and on top of that, planning my schedules in Malaysia - the wheres, whens and the whos.

After celebrating Christmas and 2009 New Year in Malaysia, I'm finally back on the 2nd of January from my 12-day-11-night bloody exciting trip. The Bahrainis - Mohamed "Cousin", Mohamed "Big Mo" and Yousif, the Omani - Ibrahim "Barhoom," the Indian - Sonali and I enjoyed our short break off the Philippines very much.

Though, our programmes were mostly taken place in Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens, Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wang, Low Yat Plaza, Lot 10, Starhill Gallery, Pavilion and Sunway Pyramid, we did take some turnovers with splashes at Sunway Lagoon Water Park and adrenaline-pumping theme park rides at Genting Highlands.

From the sleeps to the eats, they enjoyed it all; whereas I was the only one tired from the endless driving-arounds. Anyway, I still enjoyed myself alongside my close friends. Y'all know lah, I gotta bring the best of Malaysia on the table, aight!

Christmas countdown at Bukit Bintang was the first thing that opened their eyes wide. They did not see many things coming - from our wide variety of foods to our hospitality towards visitors, jaws were dropped.

Next post will be about the New Year Countdown for the year 2008/2009.

P/S : Photographs were uploaded into my Facebook account already. The hassle killed me.
